Every year on the third Monday of January, Americans celebrate the life and legacy of the extraordinary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK). It is thanks to the vision and courage of this tireless clergyman turned civil rights activist that America is today a nation where everyone has equal rights, regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin.

Minister, saint, hero, civil rights activist - These are the words often used to describe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - However, in light of President Barack Obama the word that seems to fit [him] perfectly, is visionary - The man who had the foresight to see that America could one day transform into a nation where everyone is equal, regardless of race, color or creed. So who was this amazing man that single handedly pearheaded America's civil rights movement?

In 1963, a Baptist clergyman turned civil rights leader called Martin Luther King, Jr. rocked the American public with a poignant speech. Entitled 'I Have a Dream', it's message can be summarized with this single line - 'I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character'. ReplyDeletethe world will have less people without food or place to live, and will also have less discrimination, wether based on the color of the skin or religion, because everybody deserves the same conditions. To end with hunger and wars that are happening in the world. These must end.
I think that each one of us could make a big difference about it, because, nowadays if someone does something unusual, everybody wants to do the same, so if there will be a person that starts to change people's way of thinking, it would be a big step to the world to be a better place.
That is my dream to the world!
